We think booking live music should be easy.

As easy as booking a table or a hotel room. Find the right artist, see the price and available dates, book – done. And just as easy for the artist to get paid.

Our story

The marketplace where you find the artist – and the booking system where everything else happens.

It started with a simple observation. Every weekend, thousands of restaurants, hotels and bars want a DJ, a troubadour or a band – and just as many artists want to play. Yet booking still worked the way it did twenty years ago: a tip from a mate, a DM on Instagram, a price someone made up on the spot and an invoice that might turn up, or might not.

We'd seen it from both sides. The booker who spends hours finding someone who fits, then wrestles with contracts and payments in a spreadsheet. The artist who plays a brilliant gig, then spends six weeks chasing the money.

So we built Jocky: a marketplace where you find the right artist, and a booking system for live entertainment where everything else happens. Request, contract, calendar, messages, invoice and payout in one system, for both venue and artist.

Today Jocky is a booking system for artists – DJs, troubadours, live bands and stand-up comedians. We work with event agencies, companies, restaurants and hotels, helping them get the music right on the night. Our drive is the same as it was on day one: to champion talented, passionate creators and give them the spotlight they deserve.

We're still a small team in Stockholm, working closely with the people who use Jocky every week. That's how we want to keep it – in Sweden, and step by step across the rest of the Nordics.

Frequently asked questions

What is Jocky?

Jocky is a marketplace where restaurants, hotels and bars find and book DJs and live acts – and a booking system where the request, contract, calendar, messages, invoice and payout are all handled in one flow.

Where are you based?

We're at Engelbrektsgatan 21 in Stockholm. The platform is used all over Sweden, and we're opening up to Norway and Denmark step by step.

Can I call you if I'm not sure which artist would suit us?

Yes. Call +46 70 982 27 13 or email malcolm@jocky.se and we'll tell you what usually works at similar places and what it costs.

What happens if the artist falls ill?

Get in touch with us straight away. We'll help find a replacement, often the same day, and take care of the practical side of the contract and payment.

Do you do events?

Yes. We book and staff events – a night at a hotel, a company party, a wedding. We help you find the right artist and take care of the practicalities right up to the night itself.

What does it cost to use Jocky?

If you're booking an artist for your event, sending a request is free and there's no booking fee – you get a quote, and the price in the quote is what you pay. Hotels, restaurants and bars that use Jocky as their booking system pay 5% per booking.

How much does it cost to book a DJ?

A professional DJ usually costs SEK 6,000–15,000 for an evening, depending on experience, the length of the set and whether the DJ brings their own equipment. On Jocky you see the price straight away on the artist's profile. See available DJs.

How much does it cost to book a troubadour?

A professional troubadour (an acoustic singer-guitarist) usually costs SEK 6,000–15,000 for an evening. The price depends on how long they play, whether it's one or two sets and whether sound is included. On Jocky you see the price straight away on the artist's profile. See available troubadours.

How much does it cost to book a live band?

A live band usually costs SEK 15,000–40,000 for an evening, depending on the number of musicians, how long they play and whether sound and tech are included. On Jocky you see the price straight away on the band's profile. See available live bands.

How does the artist get paid?

The invoice is sent automatically once the gig is confirmed, and the artist gets paid through Jocky – via their own company, or through payroll if they don't have one. Read more about how it works for artists.
