A julbord (Swedish Christmas buffet) becomes a completely different night with the right entertainment. Here are the most common options and what to think about when you book - December fills up fast.
The classic choice. A troubadour plays softly while guests eat and then gets the singalong going - Christmas songs, snaps drinking songs and the tunes everyone knows. It works just as well at the office as at a restaurant, and needs little space or equipment.
A stand-up comedian gives the company Christmas party a shared laugh between courses. A Christmas quiz with a quiz host mixes up the teams and gets people talking. If there's dancing after dinner, a DJ takes over - many combine a troubadour during dinner and a DJ afterwards.
Fridays and Saturdays in December get booked up first, and many companies settle their julbord as early as September and October. Being flexible on the day makes it much easier: a julbord on a weekday in late November or early December often has more artists available. Send the same request to several and you'll quickly see who can make it.

If you want to bring colleagues together around something shared, stand-up or a Christmas quiz is a good fit, and if there's dancing after the meal a DJ is the right choice. Many combine two: for example a troubadour during dinner and a DJ afterwards.
As soon as your date is set. December weekends get booked up first, often as early as September and October. A weekday or a date in late November makes it easier to find artists, even at short notice.
