How to book a troubadour in Stockholm

A troubadour is the easiest way to get a Stockholm party singing along - one guitar, one voice and a room full of choruses. Here's what's good to know before you book.

When do Stockholmers book a troubadour?

A troubadour is the right fit when guests should sing along, not just listen. The most common occasions in Stockholm are:

50th parties and birthdays at party venues and at home - singalongs with songs from the birthday person's youth.
After-work drinks at the office or a pub in the city centre, often one or two sets. Read after-work drinks with a troubadour.

An experienced troubadour in Stockholm usually charges SEK 6,000–15,000 for a night, while those new to the job often start at around SEK 4,000. A duo or band costs more. Little equipment, big atmosphere

A troubadour rarely needs more than a corner, a power socket and a small speaker. That makes them easy to fit into an inner-city flat, onto a boat or onto an island in the archipelago where a DJ rig is awkward to carry. If the party is at home, check your housing association's rules on late nights, and say in your request whether the pub or venue has its own sound to plug into.

Yes, and it's often easier than with a DJ - a guitar, a microphone and a small speaker fit on any boat. Say where you'll be, the boat times and whether there's power, and the troubadour will factor in the journey.

Does a troubadour work for a party in a flat?

Yes. A troubadour can play fully acoustic or at a low volume, so it works even in an ordinary Stockholm flat. Say how big the room is and how many of you there'll be, and the troubadour will adjust the sound.

Does it cost anything to send a booking request?

No. Searching, listening and sending requests is completely free, with no obligation. You only pay once you've chosen an artist and confirmed the booking.

What happens if the artist falls ill?

If the artist falls ill or can't make it, we'll help you find a replacement at short notice – often the same day. You never pay for a gig that doesn't happen.
